Daily Racing Thread 14th - 20th Sep

Post by Col » Sun Sep 13, 2020 6:30 pm

Thoughts for the week ahead in here please. :thumbs

The Daily thread is for selections with a bit of reasoning
we don't need chapter and verse, just a few words of reason.

Just to make it clear
Nobody wants to stop people posting any thing that may be of value to the forum.
So if you have heard anything, post up what you heard that's fine.

If you are posting up a fancy, give a little reason why you fancy it.

Just don't post a list of horses names and times that mean nothing to anyone
If you are posting system bets, make sure that is made clear.

Chief Craftsman - 4.15 Thirsk 12/1

Three years off & moved to Easterby, four runs two in class 4 & two in class 5 all on ground softer than ideal, better ground & first try in a class 6 & surprised to see this at a double figure price.

Four from the tracker

Harvest Day - (Thirsk, 14:05)
The Fenman 19/12/2018
C&D winner. 16/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at Beverley (8.4f, good to firm) 41 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Mr Millarcky - (Lingfield, 13:50)
freebooter 30/07/2020
Course winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this year. 3/1, career best when winning 11-runner handicap at Leicester (7f, good to soft) 7 days ago, just holding on. Now below last winning mark.

Open Wide - (Bath, 16:05)
The Fenman 20/06/2017
C&D winner but yet to strike form this season, only seventeenth of 27 in handicap at Goodwood (6f) 44 days ago. Needs a big step forward.

Pink Jazz - (Wolverhampton, 18:20)
The Fenman 05/02/2020
C&D winner for Gordon Elliott in January and posted his best effort for this trainer when second back here last month. Much respected under James Doyle.

You're Cool - 8.20 Wolver 9/1

73 race career just the one class 6 HCP run on the AW produced a win back in 2015, cannot be ignored in this grade & with apprentice up runs off 61, only beaten two lengths here last time, 7lb & a grade lower, respected.

Atalanta Breeze 4.15 Thirsk

4 year old and looks to have had problems has twice it’s been off the track for more than 300 days.

Only run 6 times but 2 has won from 2 on the turf including a win last time out.

The trainer has only had one runner at Thirsk which won, and the booking of Ben Curtis looks positive

Ta Woody

Took my son to Uni today so did not get a chance to post Mr Millarky that won for the hat trick, won last week off 68 ran today off 65 {8 you wont see that very often for sure, the anomaly of winning an apprentice race with a penalty from the previous race then not getting a penalty today for the last win hence off a lower mark.

Last two races at Kempton EWD these two catch the eye from either trip draw or jockey booking or all three.

You're Cool never at the races sadly

Two tracker horses Iv'e spooted

No Way Jack 3.35 Tip 11/2 Unlucky last week & now Colin Keane takes the ride with no penalty price no stand out but expect it to go close again

Firmdecisions 2.20 Red 11/1 Last win off 14lb higher mark with the claimer up, likes these conditions, ten years old now but knows where the winning post is with 11 career wins.

Morning all

Four from the tracker.

No Way Jack - (Tipperary, 15:35)
freebooter 02/06/2019
Sixteen runs since last win in 2018 but (9/1) good second of 17 in handicap at Navan (8f, soft) 5 days ago. In the mix.

Atletico - (Yarmouth, 15:30)
freebooter 05/04/2019
Fairly useful gelding. Forty-five runs since last win in 2017. Respectable third of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 4/1) 42 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time.

Firmdecisions - (Redcar, 14:20)
freebooter 30/07/2020
Eleven runs since last win in 2019. Very good fourth of 12 in handicap at Pontefract (6f, good, 20/1) 46 days ago. Enters calculations.

Kingmania - (Yarmouth, 14:30)
Placewinner 20/07/2020
Shaped quite well in her 2 qualifying runs and there should be more to come with the step up to 7f likely to suit. Respected for in-form yard.

Today Paul Mulrennan rides Kats Bob 1.45 Redcar.

This colt may have got in lightly of 72.
Three runs full of promise with winners in front and behind.
Today he ventures beyond 6f to 7f, having looked like the extra furlong will suit. This does not luck the strongest contest and a strong EW bets is advised @ 8/1 currently available.

Good Luck 🎯

Ta guys
Very best of luck Sheik the step up to seven looks a plus for Kats Bob

As for Atletico 3.30 not badly off with most here in this classified event, Marquand takes the ride first time tongue tie could easily be in the mix, Excellent George the dance imo.
