I always try ‘mypenis’ for a password. They always say it isn’t long enough! *,

4.50pm finish. I’m not a fan of this daywork malarkey! It didn’t help that the laborer was ill (hungover) and didn’t turn up.

Thank fook I’ve got two days off! Dotting and dabbing my porch Wednesday.

Phil Starbuck is building an extension in the village I’m working in. You’d have to be a die hard football fan to know his name. Anybody heard of him?

I don’t remember him being there. We used to see him a lot when I was young because our dads were mates. He never quite made it as a footballer.

He a fooking bible basher now! 8]

Played six times for you, scoring once. Having just looked him up, he had a slightly better career than I remembered, still not a very good one though.

I remember him having a gorgeous Rottweiler when he was at Forest.

It’s just so different

Did any of you have a local football paper that came out Saturday nights after the football - we had the Green un the covered the Sheffield and South Yorkshire clubs - not surprisingly it was printed on green paper ;x;

Happy Days

I can remember the early Saturday night ritual of going to the newsagent with all blokes hanging around inside and outside the shop waiting for the arrival of the van.

Then the shout ...it’s here , and the driver speeds up to the shop throwing out a bundle of papers tied in a string, before driving to the next shop, the newsagent cuts the string and hands out copies, literally hot off the press to the assembled throng, all of whom had paid whist waiting for the van.

If the van was late everyone wanders outside looking for the white van :lol

Same here. My daily newspaper (which I've missed greatly these last few weeks) is on pink paper! Great to know we have this in common 8D

... I’m sadly still thinking of it - as a nipper my Dad would send me down to collect it and I could keep the change to buy some chocolate or sweets in those large glass jars. I daren’t recall how many years that was ago *,

I can still see the guy who grabbed the newspapers ushered into the shop - like the parting of the Red Sea, then the newsagent handing out of prepaid copies - a combination of rugby scrum or a UN food parcel drop.

Definitely- sometimes if a game ran over the final result was unknown so “L” was against the scores - however they often appeared in the “stop press” column in the margin along with the latest racing results :lol
