At least you’ve worked every year and done your accounts. Officially it will show you as a lower earner because you only do a few months each year. I’m not sure if that’ll be better or worse yet though.

Back to the porch. See you soon.

He's capped payments to employed workers at 80% of about £37 k a year I think. With luck the package for the self-employed will be similar. They are worried about scammers I imagine as kenners said I imagine.

I wish I could get a line up. Apart from blues, it’s all level work. Semi-engineering bricks and they’ve gone off before I can lay six of them! 8]

Col. :lol

It’s a very good package for the s/e, Fenners. I don’t think this year will count (which has got to be good for you because you’ve barely worked!) so they’ll take an average of our monthly pay for the previous three years, then give us a three month lump sum, less 20%. Obviously on profits after expenses/personal allowance.

I think an example would be3x£30k=90k less 20% = £72k. Divide that by 36 months and that’s £2k. So on those figures it’d be a £6k lump sum paid in June.

It also sounds like you could start work again next week, and still get the full whack. 8]

I don’t think it matters. I think even if you’ve worked throughout it all, you still get the money.

Yeah, they contact you. Fook knows how long that’ll take.

I’m pretty sure it isn’t. You’re just not eligible if you’re clearing £50k a year after your deductions.

It doesn't affect me but I take an interest in these things and I think kenners has it pretty much right. There do appear to be some people who fall through the cracks though, and all the self-employed are going to have to keep themselves till June at least. God knows if they have the staff at the Tax Office to cope.
I'm glad it looks as though some of you will get a reasonable amount though. Seems only fair.

After a few years of near-abstention I seem to have drifted back into watching a bit of porn.
The trouble is I find it disgusting.

Try ITV+1. It’ll be on there for another ten minutes or so.
