Board issues

Post by Col » Wed Mar 09, 2016 6:17 pm

Apologies if you are having problems getting onto the site, and pages generally not loading properly.
The problem is being worked on, but is taking longer than we thought.

Thanks for bearing with us, hopefully we can have it back running properly soon.

Yeah, sometimes you can browse for fifteen minutes without any problems, but then suddenly a link doesn't work and takes forever to load.

Apologies once again lads, but the bad news is these issues will remain for another day.
Everything is being backed up on the server to repair the problem.

The site will stay online, but these issues will still exist until everything is backed up.

Sorry :(

I've not heard anything from the hosts, but the forum seems to be a bit better tonight.
I'll update in the morning when I hear from them.

Message from the hosts
Hi Col

we have applied some changes which we believe should resolve the issues you had with the server.
I'm not convinced, still seems a bit slow to me.
If anyone is still having problems please let me know.

Been a fookin nightmare lads x-)
The site went down last night about eight, when I phoned the hosts, they said
There may be brief network outages this evening and tonight as various equipment is being updated. Apologies for any inconvience caused.
I couldn't get on all night.
When I got up this morning it was still down for me, but I spoke to the fenman, and he said he was on, so it was only affecting some people. I've since been on the hosts facebook page, and the so called update has affected hundreds of sites, with people like me screaming and shouting at them, asking when our sites are going to be up and running again.

I've had no confirmation that things have settled down yet.

I would like to advise everyone that we have resolved the issue now. Our network was being flooded by a DDOS attack on a customers server. After talking with our upstream providers and removing the IP from being advertised all services have returned to normal. If anyone is still having issues, please email our support team ASAP. We are very sorry about this outage.
I wouldn't hold my breath, looks to me like there are still problems.

Maybe it's just me but the internet as a whole has been intermittently slow and/or freezing on several sites over the last few days.

Bookmakers' sites, oddschecker, ATR website in particular have been affected. Things seem reasonable until just before noon, then it all gets very frustrating. USA waking up and logging on????

I have been forever switching off and re-booting, running cleaners, doing scans and generally seething :> .

Col's last post has made me wonder if it's something major.

Telegraph fantasy footy (and main Telegraph) site has been unavailable for me since yesterday and I know others are having trouble with that. Haven't had problems with any other sites.

Ooh, just had a bit of a wobble there, with the first time out since the issue was apparently fixed! Hopefully a one off.
