Like last year my Mens player to follow this year is another Australian

Alexei Popyrin

Is only 20 but caught my eye last season with some decent Slam play, and I expect him to win his first title this year

Though knocked out by one of the tournament favourites today, he did well to get to the final 32 especially as was carrying a hip injury.

So hope for the future that the Aussie will pay his way when fully fit again.

Great effort to get into the last 16 before losing in a final set decider, good year looks very much on the cards now

Been given this

Selection for tonight and I feel it’s hard to ignore, I will give my reasoning as to why but I am really keen on this selection.

🎾Challenger ISMANIG

🎾Lukas LACKO Match Winner @ 4/6 (Skybet)

Reasoning:

If you have followed this page from last year you will know we made some good money on LACKO. In my opinion, his level is on the challenger tour but indoors he is a really decent player and this is his preferred surface. He won this title in 2019, so knows all about the venue/courts and will want to keep hold of his title, this time last year LACKO went on an 8 game winning streak which culminated in this title and a quarter final appearance in Eckental. I appreciate it is difficult to rely on last years form but this is LACKO second match back since February, he has picked and chosen his tournaments and although he appeared rusty in round one I feel he will benefit from that tough match up. Has he played more competitive tennis, there is no doubt he would be shorter than 4/6 so I feel this is a slight touch.
